Deadheading is a gardening term that defines the process of removing faded or dead flowers from plants helping to promote new growth, a healthier plant, and improved reflowering blooms. It is a simple process, as the bloom fades, pinch or cut the stem below the spent flower and just above the first set of full, healthy leaves.

A resting heart rate refers to the heart rate when one is relaxed, sitting down or lying down. Understanding how the heart works can help people become more attuned to their personal health and wellness.

Many of us have likely been educated on how to be healthier, which includes the foods we should consume, and the exercise we should complete on a daily basis, so we can achieve being ‘healthy.’ This information is important to know, but have you ever been educated about the risks that your current diet and habits of daily living impose on your health?

Lincoln – Throughout the month of June, the Department of Health and Human Services recognizes the importance of spreading awareness and resources related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD is a mental health challenge that can impact any individual of any age after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic or life-threatening event. A traumatic event might be physical violence, military combat, natural disasters, or a severe accident.

Central Community College announces spring Dean’s List Central Community College has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2023 spring semester. The students were enrolled at one or more CCC locations, which include the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses; Holdrege, Kearney and Lexington centers; and Ord Learning Center.

In a single word, yes. Our first teeth are important in so many ways. They require just as much attention and love as our permanent teeth. Not to mention that beginning with good habits is the best way for anyone to maintain those healthy habits.

Dean and Sheryl Noteboom spent the weekend at the Hagedorn/ Allen family reunion at Calamus Dam. A great time had by all, with relatives coming from Tennessee, Colorado, Missouri, South Dakota and Nebraska.
