LINCOLN-On November 1, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance Marketplace started open enrollment, which will run from November 1 to January 15, 2023. For Nebraskans who enroll by December 15, their coverage will begin on January 1, 2023, and for Nebraskans who enroll between December 15 to January 15, their coverage will begin on February 1, 2023. In the 2023 marketplace, four insurers will sell individual ACA coverage in Nebraska; BlueCross BlueShield Nebraska, Medica, Nebraska Total Care, and Oscar. For those shopping for a 2023 plan, they will need to consider all their options equally and think about:

Recently, while visiting from out of state, my father had a “health hiccup.” As we navigated getting this problem investigated and addressed, he was very concerned that we keep his primary care doctor informed. As my dad has said repeatedly, “I give him more grief than any of my other doctors, but I also listen to him more than any of my other doctors. He’s the only one looking out for all of me!”

Amid a nationwide surge in remote employment interest, scammers have infiltrated the job market. The Better Business Bureau has received more than a dozen reports of employment scams this year in Nebraska alone, which has cost victims more than $10,000.

Do foods spoil quickly in the refrigerator? Maximize refrigerator storage of foods that produce ethylene. Ethylene is a gas that is produced by fresh produce which initiates the ripening process. To reduce unnecessary spoilage of produce, do not store ethylene producing fruits and vegetables with foods that are sensitive to ethylene gas in the refrigerator at 40°F or below.
