Lakeview/Crookston

Jean Burge What came in time for Christmas? Unfortunately it was a blizzard name Diaz, whose “gift” was snow and wind. Reports from Mission showed 34” of snow and I’ve heard the Lakeview area had 20-30”??? It’s hard to tell! Several different areas of Lakeview were without power for several days, which is manageable if you had a generator or wood stove, but several folks had furnaces that wouldn’t work also, making for a pretty uncomfortable time.

Recycle and reduce waste for the holidays

People can be mindful of the potential to go overboard and take some steps to be more wasteconscious as they entertain. The holiday season is a special time of year.

Gratitude for grandparents

A three-pound baby entered the world in recent days. This precious child was born after his Mmom spent seven weeks in the hospital on bedrest. At home, dad and two siblings were working, going to school, and worrying. Surrounding the family were two sets of grandparents who ensured that the pieces all fell into place. From meals and lawn care, to virtual school, from evening shifts and overnights to early mornings, these grandparents were there every step of the way. They will continue to offer support while the baby remains hospitalized and growing, and after he comes home, because that is what grandparents do, if they are able.
