Study explores potential long-acting HIV, Hepatitits-B treatment

Researchers at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) have published data in a top scientific journal that may lead to a novel, long-acting treatment for both HIV and Hepatitis B (HBV). The article, “Transformation of tenofovir into stable ProTide nanocrystals with long-acting pharmacokinetic profiles,” is published today in Nature Communications.

UNMC receives $20.3 million research grant, largest in its history

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences has awarded the University of Nebraska Medical Center the largest research grant in its history. The Great Plains Institutional Development Award program for Clinical and Translational Research (IDeA-CTR) this month received a five-year, $20.3 million research grant.
