The following arrests were made by the Valentine Police Department during the week of June 29 - July 5: • On July 1, at approximately midnight, an officer responded to a report of two males arguing near the intersection of Highway 20 and South Main Street. The officer located the men, and subsequently arrested a 29 year old South Dakota man for Disturbing the Peace.

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen has directed the deployment of Nebraska Task Force One (NE-TF1) – Nebraska’s Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Team to flood-stricken areas of Texas. The 45-member group, including two canine teams, have left Lincoln.

As we sit and wait to see what financial determinations will be made at the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the fate of local and intercity bus services across the state, it has not been lost on us here at OPT that the new fiscal year began yesterday. Many local systems have suffered between 30-70 percent+ reduction in funding for the next fiscal year.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre was here last week and had a wonderful cast who shared their rendition of the Wizard of Oz! Delightful colors, lights, song and dance, the youth did a great job of performing, Friday, June 27, 2025.
