VALENTINE, February 19, 2025 — March is Red Cross Month, and for more than 130 years, heroic American Red Cross volunteers have provided hope and urgent relief to families in communities across the country.
The North Central RC&D in partnership with the Middle Niobrara NRD has secured funding for a tire amnesty event to be held on April 30 and May 1 in Valentine. The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy approved a Waste Reduction and Recycling Grant for a 200-ton scrap tire collection.
Short Story: For the first time in the school’s history the Valentine Badger dance team took {STATE}: they placed first in Class C2/D Jazz and second in C2 Pom at Nebraska State High School Dance Championships in Grand Island on Friday February 21.
After school was done for the day, Bella and Caleb DeWeerd, along with their mom, Amber, headed to the ravine for some sledding fun. Paths crossed with Zip the German shepherd who was friendly and enjoyed his outing as well.

The Valentine Bull Bash Quilt Show held Saturday, February 15, 2025, was a great success. Forty-nine quilts representing many patterns, styles, colors, and decades, from Valentine and the surrounding communities made the show a challenge for those willing to cast their votes for their favorite quilts.
