NSP, DMV warn of widespread text message scam

JUNE 7, 2025 LINCOLN, NE — The Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles are warning about a scam that has targeted numerous Nebraskans. The scam involves a text message purportedly from the Nebraska DMV claiming that the recipient has unpaid traffic fines and that several penalties are possible unless the recipient clicks a link to pay the supposed fines.

JUNE 3, 2025 MCCOOK, NE — The Nebraska State Patrol is raising awareness about multiple overdose cases in southwest Nebraska. In the last several days, there have been two overdose cases in the area.

Memorial Day service canceled due to rain

While Memorial Day services were canceled Monday, May 26, 2025, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, several folks didn’t get the word and showed up at the Vets Club. Singers of National Anthem and the Little Miss Poppy and Little Miss Poppy in waiting were in attendance.

UNK announces Dean’s List for 2025 spring semester

The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. Students who are on the Dean’s List must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.
