Diplomas and certificates were conferred on nearly 1,000 University of Nebraska Medical Center students during ceremonies held May 8, 2025 in Lincoln, Norfolk and Kearney and May 10 in Omaha and Scottsbluff.

The University of Nebraska- Lincoln held commencement exercises. The 3,591 graduates are from 57 countries, 46 U.S.

Congratulations to the Valentine Middle School fourth quarter Badger Effort Award recipients! The Badger Effort Award is based on the school’s character education. Students who demonstrate Character In Action (CIA), responsibility, accountability, honesty, empathy, and respect were nominated by their classroom teachers and staff.

Chadron State College has announced the names of students who qualified for the Dean’s List for the Spring 2025 semester. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework, be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, and have no incomplete grades.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of our daily lives, transforming the way we live, work, and interact with one another. While some may view AI as a threat, its potential to drive positive change and improve our world is vast. From healthcare and education to environmental sustainability and economic growth, AI is being harnessed in innovative ways to create a better future for all.

Cherry Hills Estates Assisted Living and Independent Senior Apartments hosted a Ladies Tea to honor women that live here and the friends and family they invited to attend. Each table was adorned with beautiful pink bouquets.

Today, one in four Native families faces food insecurity, something that limited transportation only worsens. The distant and often rugged terrains of areas like the Rosebud and Pine Ridge Reservations can present significant barriers. Roads in disrepair and sparse transportation options may contribute to high unemployment rates, food silos and decreased health outcomes, just as they do in some of the most remote and frontier regions of our state.

Lavern and Pauline Lanz spent a week in Las Vegas where they visited their daughter Darby, and saw Hamilton. After their return they had appointments in Rapid City, then traveled to Minneapolis for their grandsons baseball games and Lincoln’s spring concert.
