The following three arrests were reported by the Valentine Police Department during the week of August 9-15, 2026: • At 4:50 p.m., on August 9, and officer was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 700 block of East Highway 20. A 53 year old Nebraska man involved in the accident was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.

AUGUST 14, 2026 ~ NORTH PLATTE, NE — A Nebraska State Trooper suffered minor injuries Thursday evening when his patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle while the trooper was performing traffic control for a previous crash.

AUGUST 13, 2026 ~ GRAND ISLAND, NE — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a man wanted in connection with an attempted homicide in Wisconsin. Wednesday morning, NSP was alerted that the suspect was believed to be traveling through Nebraska on I-80 in a Chevrolet Malibu.
