Arleta D. Bauch, 81 of Holdrege formerly of Kearney passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kearney with Pastor Nicolas Jenswold officiating. Inurnment will be held at Valentine Cemetery at a later date.
Arleta was born July 31, 1944 in Valentine, NE to Orville and Sylvia (Fernen) Davis. She attended country schools in rural Todd County, SD and later graduated from Todd County High School in 1962.
On June 3, 1962, Arleta was united in marriage to Oscar G. Bauch at the Zion Lutheran Church in Mission, SD. She worked for the Department of Public Welfare from 19621963 and the First National Bank in Valentine from 1963-1965. Arleta worked from 1965-2006 for the USDA in both Valentine and Kearney.
Arleta enjoyed making crafts, tending to her flower gardens and attending Bible Study. She taught Sunday School for a number of years as well as Pioneer Youth Group at her church. She served on the Evangelism Committee and was actively involved in numerous organizations and committees for the church.
She enjoyed numerous trips to the Branson, MO area, where she loved the old time gospel and country gospel music. During her later years, Arleta truly enjoyed her time at Just for Ladies and the wonderful friendships formed there through the Ageless Warriors Class and the Aqua Hit Class.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Oscar Bauch of Holdrege; son, Gary Bauch and fiancé, Jolene Robbins of Holdrege; daughter, Nancy March and husband, David of Clarion, IA; grandchildren, Kenda Yanez and husband, Richard, Jeremy March; great grandchildren, Oliver Foster and Coraline Yanez; brother, Jack (Mary) Davis of Spearfish, SD; as well as many extended family and friends.
Arleta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Orville “Mick” Davis, Stanley Davis; and her sister, Beverly Seadore.
