Beverly A. Kirk, age 67, of Cody, NE, died Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Kadoka Nursing Home.

Beverly Ann Kirk was born February 20, 1958, in Alliance, NE to LaVonne Hawkins. Growing up in Martin, SD where she attended grade and high school. After high school Bev spent a few years in California where she loved attending pow-wows and going to visit family and friends with her two daughters.

Bev enlisted in the Army in November 1980 and served until being honorably discharged in 1986.

She moved to Rapid City where she worked for Moyle Petroleum for several years. During that time she actively supported her son Robert’s baseball and basketball teams. Bev later moved to Valetine, NE in the early 2000s to help Timarie by watching her two grandkids while she taught school. This is where she ran into Rod and the two were married June 20, 2009.

Bev loved the ranch, especially her dogs and horses, but most of all, she loved being surrounded by her grandkids who she loved with every ounce of her soul.

She was a member of American Legion Post #240 where she served as chaplain in which she truly enjoyed. Bev also loved life, dancing, raising grandkids, but especially visiting with friends and family.

Survivors include her husband Rod; daughters, Timarie (Jim) Buer and their children Bradi, Hayden, Leah and Dwan (Dallas) Kendrick and their children Camille and Carter; son Robert (Amanda) Heger and their children Hailey, Josiah, Jaxson, and Mariah; step-daughter’s Chaney ( Kelly) Boomer and their children Dyson, Chayson, Tyan, Ryden, Emersyn and Laci (Scott) Varilek and their children Nash, Ridley, Roper, and Lonnie; brother, Van (Dee) Hawkins; sisters, Linda (Chuck) Baker, Myrna Wilder, and Marty Hawkins; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, LaVonne Hawkins; brother, Robert Mousseaux; sisters, Diane Mousseaux and Twila Ortman; brother-in-law, Craig Wilder.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post #240 of Martin.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026 at the New American Legion in Martin.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Tuthill Cemetery in Tuthill, SD.
