Doris Marie Cochran (née Camm) passed away December 29, 2024, in Ft. Collins, CO, at Pathways Hospice, surrounded by friends and family.
Born August 16, 1927, in Valentine, NE, Doris was born to Harry and Augusta Camm and raised in her hometown by John and Augusta Milton before moving to Colorado with her spouse, Kenneth “Kenny” Cochran, in 1950.
Together, they built a life there while raising their sons. In the early 1980s, Doris and Kenny relocated to Green Forest, AK, where they pursued a shared passion for woodworking and crafting. Following the loss of their youngest son, Mickey Cochran, in the 1990s, they returned to Valentine.
After Kenny’s passing in 2017, Doris moved back to Colorado to live with her son, James, and daughter-in-law, Patricia.
Doris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Cochran; her sister, Mary Kerr; seven grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Cochran, son Mickey Cochran, brother’s Chester and Harry (Bub) Camm.
A memorial service will be held April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Valentine Methodist Church, located at 804 E. 5th St., Valentine, NE.
Following the service, a potluck lunch will be held at the church. Afterward, the family will inter Doris’s ashes alongside those of Kenny and Mickey at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Doris’ memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
