Jerry Ray Haas, 60

Jerry Ray Haas was born on November 25, 1964, at 12:55 a.m. in Ainsworth, NE, to Kenneth and Marilyn (Wahl) Haas of Valentine. He was delivered by Dr. Floyd Shiffmiller. Baptism by Rev. Warren G. Spellman on April 11, 1965, at the Valentine Methodist Church.

Jerry spent his early years in Ainsworth and Valentine before the family settled in Snyder, NE, where he attended school. During high school, he worked at The Medicine Chest in Fremont as the tool department manager. He later lived in Atkinson, where he worked as a mechanic and earned his GED. His career took him to Mead, where he worked for a garage door company out of Omaha, and eventually to Fremont, where he joined a water systems company.

There, he met Deb De’Melle, and the two were married in 1988 at the Fremont Methodist Church but later divorced. Together they welcomed two children, Garrett and Elizabeth.

Jerry later moved to Lincoln, where he worked for Salvage Warehouse until his passing on October 10, 2025 at the age of 60, after a short battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; grandparents Lloyd and Othella Haas, Harvey and Olive Wahl; and ex-wife Deb (De’Melle) Haas-Niebur. Survivors include his mother Marilyn; son Garrett ( children Jaxson and Emma); daughter Elizabeth (daughter Lelia); brother Bryan (Lisa) and their children Bryan II, Lindsay, Sarah (Tony), Joshua, Caleb and Danielle; and many great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2025, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Service, 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5849 Fremont St., Lincoln, NE. Officiant: Daniel Wing.

Luncheon to follow in Davey, NE. Private burial at Snyder Cemetery pending cremation.
