Kevin LeRoy Petersen, age 67, of Valentine, NE passed away at his home on September 26, 2025. Kevin was born on December 1, 1957 in Tilden, NE to Cecil and Sharon Petersen. He graduated from Elkhorn Valley High School in 1976.

He lived and died for his wife, Chari (Boschen). They were married on April 18, 1981. Their marriage was blessed with six children: Tiffani, Brittny, Adam, Winter, Merriah, and Michaela. They lived in O’Neill until 1991 when the family moved to the Rockin’ CC Ranch west of Crookston.

Kevin spent his life loving Chari and raising their family. He was hard-working and displayed his talents in a variety of jobs, but his true passion was taking care of his F1 pairs.

Kevin is best known for driving fast, laughing often, and living life to the fullest. He had several hobbies through the years, including fishing, hunting, dirt bike racing, and arm wrestling. He was stubborn and short-tempered, but learned patience later in life.

Kevin is survived by his motherin- law, Lois Boschen (Svenson); siblings, Judy Stout, Dennis, and Jim; children, Tiffani (Adam Ott of Wisner), Brittny (Bill Longcor of Valentine), Adam (Valerie of Wood Lake), Winter (Bryan Anderson of Lincoln), Merriah and Michaela of Valentine; grandchildren, Kennedie, Walker, and Dylann Ott; Averie and Jett Longcor; Beckham and Maverick Anderson; Evr, Wesson, Tayce, and Demin Ohlmann; Oaklynn and Lawson Sandoz; and many beloved family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Sharon; father- in law, Glen Dale Boschen Sr.; his beloved wife, Chari; and brother, Dave Petersen.

Kevin will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Funeral service for Kevin Petersen was held Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Valentine. The burial will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine was entrusted with service arrangements.
