Lillian Ann Temple was born on April 21, 1946, to Henry and Ethel (Hutchinson) Noetzelmann in Lewellen, NE. She was the last of 10 born to her beloved parents. She was well-educated in the Lewellen school system and obtained an associate degree from McCook Community College in the mid-1960s.

Lillian married the love of her life, Terry P. Temple, on July 7, 1963. To this union three sons were born: Russell Paul, Michael Edward and Ronald Eugene.

Lillian passed away March 19, 2026, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE at the age of 79 from complications associated with hip surgery.

Lillian was fantastic wife and even better mother. She would never miss activities of her boys and adored her grandchildren. She was a natural as a cook and never needed a recipe but was always willing to share when asked.

A recognized and friendly face in the community of Valentine, Lillian was well liked by all. She was a banker by trade who started at the bottom as a bank proof operator and eventually ascended to the top as President. She eventually retired from banking to spend time with Terry. Her work as a banker earned her the love and respect of many in the community.

She loved to garden and the flowers she raised were impressive by all accounts. Lillian’s leisure time was spent on the porch with her husband enjoying the outdoors. In retirement, Lillian could not travel enough, especially Deadwood and the Black Hills, which were her favorites. For those that knew her really well, she enjoyed the slot machines every chance she got. In her later years, she always enjoyed the company of all at the Vets Club. Lillian, no doubt, will be missed. Preceding her in death was her husband, Terry P. Temple, as well as her parents Henry and Ethel Noetzelmann. The nine siblings preceding her in death were: Gladys Spear, Alfred Noetzelmann, Harold Noetzelmann, Chris Noetzelmann, Henrietta West, John Noetzelmann, Paul Noetzelmann, Shirley Hewitt, and David Noetzelmann. Lillian is survived by her children, Russ (Dee) of Colome, SD, Mike (Selda) of North Platte, NE, and Ron (Becky) of Norfolk, NE. Surviving her also were seven loving grandchildren: Paul (Johanna Foster) Temple, Kyle (Hannah) Temple, Allison (Dylan) Eisenmann, Jim (Jen) Hagen, Bob Hagen, Roni (Brian) Erickson, David (Montana) Ely, as well as eight great grandchildren and one on the way. She will miss her brother-inlaw, Arnie West, immensely.

Burial and a graveside service will be at Ash Hollow Cemetery in Lewellen, NE, on March 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. MDT. A Celebration of Life for Lillian will be held in Valentine at a later time.

Holmes Funeral Home of Valentine, Nebraska has been entrusted with the arrangements.
