Russell Mac Foyle was born in San Jose, CA on April 20, 1939 to Sam and Ivy (Shunk-Foyle) Bridgeman and he was raised in Texas. After honorably serving his country in the U.S. Army, he moved to Alaska.
Rusty met Mavis Fleming in 1979 in Fairbanks, AK and they were married November 1, 1980 in North Pole, AK. He loved flying his Cessna 172 to the many native Alaskan villages.
They moved from Alaska in 1993 to Port Orchard, WA. He earned a BS in Engineering from LaSalle University in 1997 and worked as an engineer until his retirement in 2008. They moved to South Dakota in 2009, to be closer to family and built a house and lived off Littleburg Road just north of the Nebraska state line. After five years they moved to Valentine.
He was a gentle, soft-spoken man who could fix anything. In later years, he especially enjoyed spending time and hunting prairie dogs with his bff, Roger Monroe.
Rusty passed away at his home in Valentine, NE on May 23, 2026.
He is survived by four daughters: Linda Brown of North Pole, Laura McAdams of Fairbanks, Ivy I. Tupper of Fairbanks and Patricia Stowe of Shoshone, WY; grandchildren, Dana and John Brown; Tanya James and Gabrielle Acevedo; and Tony, Troy and Amber Tupper; siblings, Carolyn Adams of Oregon, Sammy Bridgeman of Texas and Steven Lamberson of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mavis; sons Clayton Foyle, and Zachery Sharples; granddaughter, Rachel McAdams; and his parents.
Rusty donated his body to the UNMC in Omaha and requested no public services. Condolences may be sent in care of the family to Patricia Stowe, 502 N. Hidden Valley Rd., Shoshone, WY
