Northwest Community Action Partnership

Flexible funding is now available in Cherry County. This funding targets a variety of needs such as plumbing and vehicle repairs, clothing assistance, bed bug fumigation, and other needs as identified by the client. In addition to flexible funding, money will still be available for mortgage, rental, utility, and prescription assistance, along with motel vouchers, and gas vouchers for medical appointments through the Northwest Community Action Partnership.

NCAP also supports the Extra Helpings Food Pantry-Valentine. This food pantry enables clients to receive a large distribution of food on a monthly basis, relieving food anxiety as a result of rising foods costs due to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). In addition to our normal food pantry, we also have a mobile food pantry program in conjunction with the Foodbank of the Heartland. The mobile food pantries will be held on May 25 and September 21, 2021, at the Cherry County Fairgrounds. For more information please call 308-432-3393.

Because of COVID-19, we have established the ability to complete applications by phone. If your client is interested in completing a phone application, please have your client call 402-376-1886 for an appointment. Our local office is located at 312 E. Third Street, Valentine, NE 69201. For more information about office hours and programs offered, please visit our website at www.NCAP.info.

Funding for these programs is provided by the Nebraska Children Family Foundation (NCFF), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Housing and Urban Develop (HUD). Eligibility is determined by program and funder requirements.

As always, in a world full of problems, NCAP seeks to be the solution.
