If not, we have an opportunity right now, to confirm building locations that do not have broadband service.

Additional arrest made in Laurel quadruple homicide investigation

DECEMBER 16, 2022, NORFOLK — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have made another arrest in connection with the quadruple murder that occurred in Laurel, on August 4, 2022. Investigators arrested Carrie Jones, the wife of homicide suspect Jason Jones.

Semi driver arrested after hit-and-run with trooper

DECEMBER 15, 2022, LINCOLN — One person has been arrested following a hit-and-run with a Nebraska State Trooper, a pursuit, and an hour-long standoff on Interstate 80. The incident began at approximately 5:10 p.m., after NSP had received information regarding a semi pulling a flatbed trailer that was driving recklessly on Interstate 80 near Lincoln.

Governor-Elect Pillen announces appointments and searches for DHHS

LINCOLN – Nebraska Governorelect Jim Pillen announced he will be appointing the following individuals as division directors in the Department of Health and Human Services: Charity Menefee as the Director of the Division of Public Health, Tony Green as the Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities, and Kevin Bagley as the Director of the Division of Medicaid and Long-Term Care. Governor-elect Pillen also announced he be appointing Dr. Matthew Donahue as the acting Chief Medical Officer, and will conduct national searches to find division directors for Behavioral Health and Children and Family Services.

Fischer leads letter against Mexico’s proposed ban on genetically engineered corn

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, led a bipartisan letter with 25 of her Senate colleagues to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA) expressing concern over Mexico’s efforts to ban U.S. genetically engineered corn.
