University of Sioux Falls honors spring graduates Erin Cheney of Shelton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies from University of Sioux Falls. Cheney and over 400 students were celebrated for graduation in the spring commencement ceremony.

On 06/05/2022 at 10:35 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of East Highway 20 for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The unoccupied vehicle was found to have rolled into the ditch. No property damage occurred.

Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund extends deadline

LINCOLN, NE (June 15, 2022) - The Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund officers announced they will expand relief efforts to include beef cattle producers who were affected by all fires reported through the Nebraska Emergency Management Association (NEMA) Watch Center, instead of only those affected by the Road 739 Fire.

IN VALENTINE project progress

An update on utilities and concrete surfacing work for the IN VALENTINE projects: The intersection at 3rd and Main will be open to cross traffic. The remaining sidewalks on 3rd Street are scheduled to be placed, cross traffic will resume and be able to cross Main Street.

83rd annual Sandhills Cattle Convention and Trade Show

Atkinson, NE - “Time has just flown by since our last convention in September of 2021. After the convention in Valentine the board decided that we needed to move the convention back to the spring-like it has been since the Sandhills Cattle Association started holding our annual convention and trade show,” organizers said. “This year we started our 83rd annual Convention and trade show on Thursday, May 26, with our 25th annual Golf Classic at the Atkinson-Stuart Country Club. We had another great turnout on this beautiful golf course this year with 40 golfers. The day began with our usual shotgun start at 10:00 a.m., and the teams had a day full of fun on this course.”
