Bulldoggers BBQ holds Ribbon Cutting

What Heath and Courtney Bristol had at first was Frosty’s Drive-in. This spring, they opened as Bulldoggers BBQ which was born out of a desire to bring in a style of cooking more in line with their background.

Dave Dent retires from KVSH

His mother’s love and compassion is what allowed Valentine to have Dave Dent as the voice of KVSH for 53 years. He was the youngest of two sons, and three daughters living on a farm in Creighton, NE. “We struggled. You made enough to eat and that was about it. She thought I should be a radio announcer - just out of the blue.”

Zion Lutheran holds The Granny Awards!

The director of the humorous play Granny Awards, presented by the grade school students, was Miss Bornschlegl, with the help of Mrs. Doble for the costumes. All the children from Zion Lutheran School had a part. The end of the year play was full of singing, dancing and, of course, Granny and her awards (based on children’s fairy tale stories, in particular the Big Bad Wolf).

Family Block Party

The First Baptist Church, 209 N. Green St. will host a Family Block Party Saturday, June 11 from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Fun and games including a bounce house, snow cones, hot dogs, corn hole, gunny sack races, prizes along with a three wheel drifting scooter give away.

OMAHA-Memorial Day weekend marked the unofficial start of summer and a dangerous time of year for young drivers. Nationwide, more than 30 percent of deaths involving teen drivers occur during what’s called the 100 Deadliest Days, a period that runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
