Cody News

Yes, Cody News is back! After mourning the potential loss of our county newspaper and the gratitude for those who have stepped up to keep our dear gazette alive, I found myself inspired to do my part to contribute what I can, and encourage others to do the same. Each of our Cherry County communities are unique and precious, and recording their news in black and white is ever so much more viable than the fleeting comments of social media. So, without further ado… The beloved Husker Hub took on new ownership at the beginning of the year. Carissa and Jordan Pitkin and their partners Maggie and Jason Cox are the new owners of the now-named Cody Hub. Helpers include Patty Kramer, Hannah Johnson, Kassidy Roseberry and some younger gals giving it a try. Carissa also included her “slave laborers”, (known as children), who join in the fun. Their hours will stay the same – 11 a.m. till everyone goes home. A great facet of this business is the Senior Meal program which is included with the daily lunch specials from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. Maggie and Jason have purchased the former Forrest Eberly home as well. The community is grateful to Shane and Heather Wobig for sharing their talents and their building improvements over the past three years, and we wish them well!
