The last two years have seemingly merged into one big COVID mess - which has launched a bunch of other messes - front line workers being overworked, and other workers taking advantage of beefed up unemployment benefits; businesses have closed, and still others are just starting up. December 27, 2021 Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Division of Behavioral Health, the Nebraska Pharmacists Association and Behavioral Health Region Systems are offering Statewide Narcan Program that distributes free Narcan nasal spray kits in Nebraska. The program allows anyone who is a Nebraska resident to obtain Narcan for free, without a prescription at a participating pharmacy. There are currently 44 pharmacies that participate in the program, and more are being added weekly.

Christmas eve

It was the night before Christmas. Only in our Santa Cruz home there WERE creatures stirring-- besides me. Two of our children were sneaking a peak at the underthe-tree treasures. We just about literally bumped into each other in the darkened room. I didn’t handle it well. (What was I thinking?!) Instead of laughing with them and making a memory, I chided them for being up and around. I got an “F” in “maturity” that night.

LINCOLN - Anglers must be aware of fishing regulation changes that take effect January 1, 2022, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The changes are: • Black Bass – The area where no minimum length limit on smallmouth bass is required has expanded to the Nebraska Public Power District Canal starting at the Sutherland Reservoir outlet to the confluence with the South Platte River in Lincoln County; this includes Lake Maloney.

Valentine Police Department

On 12/12/2021 at 1:13 p.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of West Highway 20 for a non-injury accident with property damage. A juvenile male was cited.
