A new, permanent addition to the sprawling National WWII Museum in New Orleans is a three-story complex with displays as daunting as a simulated Nazi concentration camp bunk room, and as inspiring as a violin pieced together from scrap wood by an American prisoner of war.

Loft Gallery showcases local’s art work

Lincoln, November 8, 2023 — The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Loft Gallery is featuring 4-H’ers artwork selected from over 600 entries at the Nebraska State Fair. The 4-H visual art projects included in the show were completed this year but demonstrate mastery developed over many years in the project.

DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day removes almost 600,000 pounds of prescriptions

Omaha - Communities across the nation safely disposed of old, unwanted and expired medications October 28, at the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) 25th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, with law enforcement partners collecting 599,897 pounds of unneeded medications at 4,675 sites nationwide. The DEA Omaha Division accounted for 20,022 pounds collected at 174 sites.

Jay Noteboom and son Reece of Fort Pierre came to the Dean and Sheryl Noteboom home Thursday to do some weekend deer hunting, and his wife Desiree and Hailey joined them on Sunday. Weekend guests of Vern and Marlys Walkling was their daughter Prairiey, and her kids, Nolan and Norah.
