Valentine City Council hears preliminary costs for Convention and Wellness Center

The Valentine City Council met Thursday, August 10, 2023, in the City Library Meeting room. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: City Clerk Deanna Schmit, City Manager Shane Siewert, Council members Kyle Arganbright, Kalli Kieborz, Neil Wescott, Brad Arnold, and Ross Brockley.

Jury finds Kilmer guilty in the axe murder of Wittmus

The jury found Kevin T. Kilmer guilty of first degree murder, Tuesday, August 8, 2023. He was charged with the death of Ruth Ann Wittmus on or about August 24, 2021. A complaint had been filed which said: Class 1 or 1A Felony, Murder in the First Degree, and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, along with the penalties.

Open to all artists. All mediums are eligible. Original works of art completed within the last two years will be accepted. Unlimited entries. Art must have a wire hanger. 3D art must have a stand. Cash prizes for adult and children’s divisions. Sand Painter members can display up to 4 works of art made in classes or workshops for no fee and no awards in an area called ‘Art Under Instruction’ Art show/workshop at Exhibit Hall, Cherry County Fairgrounds, Valentine.
