Sign up now for the Valentine Chamber of Commerce’s annual Cork Thornton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament that will be held January 26-27, 2024. The Rules meeting and dinner will be held at the Cherry County 4-H building, Friday, January 26, with check-in beginning at 4:00 p.m.

A look back at the second quarter of 2023

We begin the look back at 2023 with April, and Easter greetings! He lives! We are blessed. Pastor Andrew Utecht shared a message of how Easter heals shame, “ Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle goal was met

The Valentine Lions Club partners with The Salvation Army each year to raise money during the Christmas Kettle Campaign that runs from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. The goal for 2023 was $8,000 and thanks to 112 bell ringers, along with many generous donors, the goal was met and $8,006.93 was raised.

Troopers arrest 65 impaired drivers during holiday season

January 3, 2024, Lincoln — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol removed from the road 65 impaired drivers during the holiday season. During the final two weeks of 2023, troopers participated in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Attorney General’s priorities
