Cherry Hills Estates Assisted Living Old Fashioned Divinity Contest was a sweet deal. With 13 entries, three judges, three prizes and a room full of residents, family and friends our blood sugar raised and our sweet tooth was satisfied.

Nebraska minimum wage increases to $12.00 effective January 1, 2024

LINCOLN – Nebraska’s minimum wage will increase to $12 per hour effective January 1, 2024. In accordance with an initiative passed by voters in November of 2022, the minimum wage will increase $1.50 each year through 2026, followed by an annual cost of living increase beginning in 2027. The minimum hourly wage for tipped employees is $2.13 per hour. Employers are responsible for ensuring that wages and tips combined equal at least the minimum wage.

We have to be here at a certain time; we have to go there at another time; and we don’t like it when we are late! We are driven by time; our schedules are detailed down to the minute and even the second.

His Light still shines

Jesus was born into a world that was fraught with hatred, greed and a sense of helplessness and loss. Jesus came as a bright light of promise into a world that badly needed a Messiah. “Jesus our Lord and Savior came as a Light into a world of darkness. Yet not everyone accepted him. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil,” John 3:19.
