Poland back in custody

Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott has announced that Dylan Poland, has been captured and is back in custody. Poland was released on a court furlough to attend treatment. He refused to attend treatment and left his transportation.

American Legion Post #202 will be holding their Memorial Day Services at Mount Hope Cemetery in Wood Lake, Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Gold Star Mother Kelly Hollopeter.

Three Nail Cycling for youth and families

First Baptist Church is excited about launching a new ministry called Three Nails Cycling. Three Nails Cycling was created and led by Pastor Tim at his church in Omaha and he is hoping to create a similar ministry here in Valentine.

Bancroft and Battershaw VHS and MPCC pioneers!

They’re pioneers! Mekallyn Bancroft and Taylor Battershaw are the first two individuals who have graduated from Mid Plains Community College while still seniors at Valentine High School. They used the Valentine Foundation to help with their dual credit courses, and will enter college this autumn as junior students.

Record number of students apply to attend 2023 Nebraska Ag Youth Institute

Lincoln – The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) received a record-breaking number of applications from current high school juniors and seniors across the state to attend the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI) this summer. NAYI brings together hundreds of students every year to learn more about Nebraska agriculture, network with ag leaders and explore career opportunities. This year, NAYI will be held July 10-14 on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus.

BBB Scam Alert: BBB investigation reveals gunshop's false claims and unreliable practices

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has recently completed an investigation into JCS Gunshop, which operates under the domain name murdocksguns.com. The investigation was initiated due to a consumer complaint and subsequent inquiries made by 30 businesses about the company. The investigation found that JCS Gunshop made false claims about their operating location and displayed unreliable business practices.
