Keys Family participates in Ag in the Classroom

Kerry and Anita Keys, ranchers from the Elsmere, area have participated as penpals through the Ag in the Classroom program for 15 years. Throughout this time, they've had schools from Lincoln, Omaha, Papillion, Randolph, and this year they're penpals with Mrs. Orth’s fourth grade class from Ogallala.

Governor Pillen among those confident in Nebraska’s economy

The Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board (Forecasting Board) voted on Wednesday, April 26, to make minor adjustments to current fiscal year revenue projections for general fund receipts. The Forecasting Board voted unanimously to adjust current year revenues downward by 1.2 percent. They now expect the State to have over $6.3 billion in revenue by the end of the tax year.

These clinics are for farmers and ranchers and their families. They are confidential, one-on-one sessions with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. These clinics have been offered in Nebraska since 1989.

Incidents/Arrests On 04/17/2023 the Cherry County Attorney and Valentine Community Schools requested an investigation be completed regarding excessive truancy. On 04/21/2022 at 5:44 a.m., an officer responded to 3rd and Cherry Streets for a non-injury accident.

Troopers arrest 13 impaired drivers during weekend campaign

APRIL 25, 2023, LINCOLN — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol removed from the road 13 impaired drivers, including two drug-impaired drivers, during a special enforcement operation. The effort, which ran from April 19 - 23, included high-visibility patrols throughout the state.
