There are many events that have occurred in this world that shape the course of history. One such event happened on December 7, 1941; the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. That surprise attack was the catalyst which drew the United States into the Second World War. The next day, on December 8, 1941 the United States declared war on Japan.

The story is told of a television interviewer walking the streets of Tokyo at Christmas time. The interviewer askedayoungwoman“What is the meaning of Christmas?” This young woman responded with “I don’t know. Is that the day that Jesus died?”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints The Christmas season is often associated with gifts. The most desirable gifts are those offered to us by our loving Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. These gifts are made possible because Jehovah condescended to come to earth as the baby Jesus. He was born of an immortal Father and a mortal mother. He was born in Bethlehem under the humblest of circumstances. His was the holy birth foreseen by prophets since the days of Adam. Jesus Christ is God’s transcendent gift -- the gift of the Father to all of His children (see John 3:16). That birth we joyfully celebrate each Christmas season.

His wife had died earlier of accidental burns, while his son, who had joined the Union Army against his father’s will, had been gravely wounded in battle.

Holiday decor comes in many different sizes - from the smallest tree ornaments to illuminated statues for the yard or inflatable items. Figuring out a storage plan can take a little effort. Lombardo Homes polled 1,000 Americans in 2021 and 94 percent said they celebrate Christmas in at least some way, and 84 percent said they decorate. According to Time2Play, which surveyed 1,000 Canadians about their holiday decorating habits, Manitoba puts up Christmas decor earlier than any other province, with these residents taking out decorations 4.3 weeks ahead of Christmas Day on average.

The holiday season is a sentimental time of year. Nostalgia for past holiday seasons and excitement about what's to come make this a particularly special time of year for millions of people across the globe.
