Gov. Ricketts issues Emergency Proclamation following severe winter storm

LINCOLN – December 16, 2022, Governor Pete Ricketts issued an Emergency Proclamation for impacted counties in the Panhandle and North Central Nebraska following an ongoing winter storm. On Tuesday, December 13, a severe winter storm moved across the Panhandle and North Central Nebraska, producing large amounts of snow and strong winds.

It’s official, Smith is pastor of Valentine Presbyterian Church

On a beautiful autumn day, Gage Sandoz was playing his guitar as people filed in to the Valentine Presbyterian Church to watch the commissioning of Pastor Gary Smith. The definition of commission is: an instruction, command, or duty given to a person or group of people. Pastor Smith has been the Valentine Presbyterian Church’s interim pastor but his duties were made official that Sunday.

Around this time of year, Rose Keiko Higa often finds herself making holiday cards for family and friends. An art history major at Oberlin College, in Ohio, she uses cut and layered paper to craft Christmas cards, and paints traditional Japanese New Year's cards on watercolor paper.
