ADA compliant crossings continue at intersections

IN VALENTINE project update: Paulsen Construction will continue concrete placement for driveways for the area of Highway 20 to A Street. Sidewalks to follow. A Street and B Street intersections have been placed and will be opened in the near future.

State’s Revenue Forecast reflects Nebraska’s strong growth, sets Stage for more tax relief

LINCOLN – Governor Pete Ricketts commented on this decision by the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board to raise the State’s revenue forecast by $2.5 billion through fiscal year 20242025. The board voted to increase the State’s revenue forecast by $621 million for the current fiscal year (FY2022-23), to increase estimates by $820 million for fiscal year 202324, and to increase estimates by $1.05 billion for fiscal year 2024-25. Currently, the State’s Cash Reserve Fund is at $1.2 billion. The revised forecast projects it to grow to $1.9 billion by the end of FY20232024.

NOVEMBER 4, 2022, LINCOLN — A collaboration between the Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska Department of Transportation, Nebraska Crime Commission, and Office of the Chief Information Officer has been awarded a national honor to their effort to streamline crash reporting and data collection for law enforcement agencies across the state.

Drought has severe impact on crop yield in southeastern Nebraska

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, 76 percent of Nebraska is in severe drought and has been for several months. (Cherry County is divided into three categories of drought with extreme in the east and north west, severe for most all of the rest, and a small pocket to the west has moderate drought.)

Plans have been put into place for this years Valentine’s Heart of Christmas Celebration marking its seventh year, set to occur on Shop Small Town Saturday, which is November 26. The parade will be held once again on Green Street due to road construction on Main Street.
