Area closure order for Bessey Ranger District, Scott Lookout Tower and 4-H Camp

Halsey-October 25, 2022 Forest officials from the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands, Bessey Ranger District announced an Area Closure Order for the Scott Lookout Tower and 4-H Camp beginning October 26, 2022 at 12:01 a.m.. The order will remain in place through April 30, 2023.

Farm and ranch financial clinics to be held

These clinics are for farmers and ranchers and their families. They are confidential, one-on-one sessions with an experienced ag law attorney and ag finance counselor. These clinics have been offered in Nebraska since 1989.

Extension workshop on preparing for operating loan renewal November 9 in North Platte

Lincoln-Nebraska Extension will host a workshop in North Platte on preparing for operating loan renewals that will cover documents that farmers and ranchers should have in place before going into the process. It will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on November 9, at the Lincoln-Logan-McPherson Extension Center, 348 W. State Farm Road.

America’s 250 favorite natural landmarks revealed in national survey; four other Nebraska landmarks included in the top 250 list. From the mystical Appalachian Trail which runs through the east, to the natural phenomenon that is Mississippi’s Petrified Forest, and the esteemed Grand Canyon, the U.S.

Correction

In the October 19, 2022 edition of the Valentine Midland News, it was reported that the first tree planted on Valentine’s Main Street was in front of Sandhills State Bank. Actually, it was planted in front of Valentine City Hall.

Approximately 50 workers attended the appreciation luncheon Thursday, October 27, 2022 held by: Valentine Chamber of Commerce, KVSH, Flower Land, Viero, Henderson’s IGA, and Security First Bank. “Security First Bank brought their grill, Tom Cooper and Trent Soliday grilled the burgers and topped them with cheese, tater salad, chips, two cakes were made, and water,” said Executive Director Dean Jacobs.
