Niobrara River Overlook Informational Kiosks open to the public

September 26, Lincoln — Four interpretive kiosk signs located on an overlook near the new Niobrara West Bridge over the Mormon Canal have been completed and are open to the public, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT). The overlook was built by NDOT as part of a bridge repair project after the March 2019 floods. They are located just west of Niobrara, on the south side of Highway 12, directly across the highway from Niobrara State Park.

NSP arrests woman for attempted murder plot

OCTOBER 4, 2022, LEXINGTON — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested an Elwood woman following the discovery of an attempted murder plot. The investigation began the previous week when the Gosper County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a concerned citizen regarding suspicious comments made by an Elwood woman.

Volunteer firefighters continue learning the ropes
