Saturday evening guests of Jason and Lizzie Schubauer, Ella and Clara were Taylor and JayLynn Schubauer of Lincoln, Alex Schubauer and Molli Weeks of Lincoln, Jen Schubauer, Janel Schubauer and Doug Crouse.

Welcome Pastor Jake Schadel

Who would have thought running heavy equipment would someday lead a young man to become a pastor? “I started listening to audio books, and I was pretty tired of listening to everything on the radio. In my first year I listened to 104 books, in my second year, it was 115 books,” said Jake Schadel. “I’ve always been a faithful person, but it was the first time I listened to the whole Bible. I downloaded the Bible three times. The NIV, the dramatized version, and an English Standard Version. It took about 76 hours to get though which I was able to do. I started on Monday and finished on a Friday, so Genesis to Revelation in two weeks.”

Tornado drill to sound March 23

Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. CT; 9:00 a.m. MT is the State of Nebraska Tornado Drill. NWS North Platte will be sending out the TEST warning as a Routine Weekly Test on NOAA Weather Radio as well as social media and NWS Chat.

$6.7 million awarded to Waste and Litter Reduction, Recycling and Scrap Tire grants

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy Director Jim Macy announced the award of $6,679,007 in grants to support 155 projects across the state. These grants will help fund litter and waste reduction projects, recycling programs, and pay costs for scrap tire cleanups and collections for household hazardous waste, electronic waste, and pharmaceuticals.
