As a mammographer at Cherry County Hospital, I get asked a lot of questions about mammograms. With October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this seems like an opportune time to share the answers I’ve given. The following are the most frequently asked questions I have received over the years: What is a mammogram? A mammogram is an x-ray exam of breast tissue performed to screen for breast cancer.
