Train to be a Master Naturalist in October

People interested in becoming a Nebraska Master Naturalist may sign up for the Fall Core 24 training at the Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center in Wood River. The workshop on October 17-18 and 24-25 allows participants to learn about Nebraska’s natural resources and achieve Master Naturalist in-Training status.

Leo Brinda Post and Unit 90, and Sons Squadron of the American Legion in Valentine will sponsor their annual Fill An Empty Stocking project. Parents and/or legal guardians with physical custody who wish to sign up their children for gifts need to fill out the forms at Union Bank and Trust on Highway 20, in Valentine on or before Friday, December 5.

T K Angus of Wood Lake, ranked as third largest in registering the most Angus beef cattle in Nebraska with the American Angus Association during fiscal year 2025, which ended September 30, according to Mark McCully, Association chief executive officer.

Cherry County – What a great place to live!

KVSHsponsoredaradiotelethon August 27, 2025 to solicit donations and pledges for the Cherry County Convention Center, and with great success raised over $204,000 for the project! Each dollar raised up to $93,500 was matched with the help of Butler Veterinary Clinic providing the match. Donations were from children in our community, ranchers, area businesses, friends, and citizens of CherryCounty.
