This week, I want to highlight the Interim Study on the Niobrara National Scenic River, which I introduced as LR158. This study will examine the feasibility of Nebraska taking over administrative responsibility for the 76-mile stretch of the Niobrara Scenic River.

Each year on the 4th of July, families across Nebraska come together to celebrate more than just fireworks and festivals. We celebrate our founding ideals — the belief that all are created equal, endowed with the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

During Independence Day weekend, the blessings of freedom and the memories of the American patriots who laid the foundation for our republic with the Declaration of Independence give us cause to celebrate! The United States has abundant natural resources, the world’s leading economy, and limitless opportunity, but our people are our greatest gift.

There’s some good news and plenty of bad news for Nebraska’s rural hospitals. Just recently, state officials cheered the announcement that the federal government had approved the state’s application to join a program, already involving 44 other states, that would provide an additional $1 billion to the state’s hospitals and nursing facilities.

We celebrated the 249th anniversary of America’s founding. With the Declaration of Independence, our founders sought to overthrow tyranny with a simple and self-evident idea. They knew that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights. Our founding ideals of freedom, justice, and equality have guided our country for nearly 250 years.

These days, besides seeing American bombers attacking Iran, we’re confronted with almost daily news about immigration raids and with court rulings about what ICE can, and cannot, do. We’ve been treated to the arrest of man whose three sons are U.S.

This week, I want to address what most Nebraskans and Americans have been watching on national television: the United States’ recent action against the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons program. I also want to detail the grave and growing threat Iran poses to Americans.

W This week, pro-life Americans marked the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v Jackson 2022 ruling which restored states’ ability to affirm the constitutional right to life for unborn children. For nearly five decades prior, the hopeful witness of prolife advocates, perseverance of pregnancy centers tirelessly serving their local communities, and faithful work of many at multiple levels of public service planted the seeds for a culture of life, which continues to grow to the benefit of mothers, babies, and fathers in need of hope.

Birthday America! As we approach the Fourth of July, it’s worth pausing to reflect on what truly sets America apart. At its core, our country was founded on the principle of limited government, structured to protect individual liberty, not to manage every detail of daily life.
