Jerry List inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall Of Fame

Six standout players from Nebraska's 1971 national championship team form the 2021 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame Class announced and included: Jerry List, John Adkins, Doug Dumler, Bill Janssen, Dave Mason, and Keith Wortman.

Valentine wins over Cozad

Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the Lady Badgers traveled to O’Neill where they lost in two sets. Valentine - 19, 15 = 0 O’Neill - 25, 25, = 0 Leading in kills were Malika Monroe, and Kinsey Buechle each with 4.

BADGER OF THE WEEK

Mekallyn Bancroft, Junior, Girls Golf Mekallyn is off to a great start to her golf season. She has led the Lady Badgers in each meet this year which includes individual championships at the Ainsworth and O’Neill Tournaments, which also helped win the team championships as well.

SCHOLAR OF THE WEEK

Ashton Dehart, Senior Ashton Dehart truly deserves to be the Scholar of the Week, and I am so glad to have him in my class! He comes every day with a positive attitude and smile. He works hard and is genuinely curious about the material we are studying.

Lady Badgers take first place

Due to a rained out meet, the Lady Badgers had a make-up Invitational at West Holt where they came in first place out of six schools, Thursday, September 9, 2021. The team had 386 and five players medaled.

Badgers lose to Chadron

Friday, September 10, the Valentine Badgers hosted Chadron and lost with a score of 0-37. Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 0, 0, 0, 0 = 0 Chadron - 13, 18, 6, 0 = 37 Ashton Lurz had a total of 69 passing yards in the game.

XC travels to Broken Bow

Saturday, September 11, the Valentine Cross Country team traveled to Broken Bow where they competed at the Broken Bow Country Club. The Girls 5K run results are as follows: 16th place, MaKenzie Long, 22:25.28; 61st place, Grace Maunu, 28:14.96; 66th place, Lexi Long, 28:49.44.

Game and Parks seeks comment on elk management plan

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking public input on its draft elk management plan. The purpose of the plan, which is a working document, is to provide background and historical information about elk in Nebraska, while providing guidance in the decision-making process.
