Cody-Kilgore competes at MNAC and come home CHAMPIONS!!!

On Tuesday, March 30, 2021, the Cody-Kilgore Junior High and High School Music students traveled to Dunning, to compete in the MNAC Music Contest. Students participated in a variety of events including three solos, six small ensembles and three separate large ensembles.

SCHOLAR OF THE WEEK

Jonah Perrett, Senior Jonah Perrett has done a great job of bringing enthusiasm to our choir practices in the last couple of weeks. He has really stepped up to be leader in his section and in the choir! We appreciate his strong voice and energy! He will really be missed next year!! :).

BADGER OF THE WEEK

Dakota Krogman, Junior, FFA Dakota is an extremely hard worker and is always one of the first to volunteer to help. The time that she put in to help with fruit sales earlier this year, and countless other FFA events and activities, has not gone unnoticed.

VHS Prom candidates announced for The Lost Prom

Valentine High School will be having their Prom, April 17, 2021 with the theme The Lost Prom. The banquet is for juniors, seniors, Prom Servers, outside dates of juniors\seniors (with a fee for outside dates that must be paid by the required due date) and school invited guests only. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. and will close at 6:00 p.m. The banquet will be held at the Peppermill.

VHS competes in Winner meet

Saturday, April 10, the Badgers traveled to Winner and competed in their track meet. No team scores were kept.

Boes selected as Girls State, Butler selected as alternate

Lindsey Boes was selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State. She was selected based on her academic achievements which include: volleyball, track, speech team, one act play, student council officer, junior class officer, club volleyball, St. Nicholas Church Youth Group, National Honor Society, and high honor roll. She is the daughter of Daniel and Shannon Boes.

Boys Golf season begins with a cold, breezy meet

The first tournament of the year was in North Platte for the Valentine VHS boys golf team on March 26, 2012. The weather was cold, breezy, and rained last hour of the tournament.

Lake Minatare SRA reopens to the public

LINCOLN — Lake Minatare State Recreation Area has reopened to the public, effective immediately. The recreation area, home to the Panhandle’s largest body of water, recently was closed after a waterfowl die-off was reported March 12.

First track and field meet held in Ainsworth, results for Valentine and Cody-Kilgore

Friday, March 26, 2021, the track and field season officially began with a meet at Ainsworth. Congratulations on the five new meet records posted on the day: Girls 800 M Relay, or 4x200 by North Central, 1:54.1, with the team of Jillian Buell, Jenna Hallock, Daisy Frick, Hunter Wiebelhaus who broke the old record made by Winner in 2010 of 1:54.2.
