Saturday, September 16, the Cowgirls played against the Paxton Tigers and lost in two sets. Scoring: C-K - 17, 11 = 0 Paxton - 25, 25 = 2 They played against the Hyannis Longhorns the same day and won in two sets.

4-H Foundation commits $2 million to Sandhills Discovery Center

Lincoln, September 6, 2023 – The Nebraska 4-H Foundation, in a special board meeting, has committed $2 million to the Nebraska Community Foundation as a match toward the development of a Sandhills Discovery Center. The available funding is a result of the insurance settlement from the Bovee fire which destroyed the 4-H camp at Halsey in the Sandhills last fall. The camp had long been a summer outdoor environmental education center and leadership camping experience for 4-Hers statewide and for use by other organizations.

Badgers lose to Chadron 0-49

The Badgers traveled to Chadron Friday, September 15, 2023, where they took on the Cardinals and lost with a shutout and 49 points to Chadron. Scoring by quarters: Valentine - 0, 0, 0, 0, = 0 Chadron - 28, 14, 7, 0 = 49 The Badgers had 93 passing yards, 86 by Trace Buechle, and Trystan Beebout had 7.

Results from the BB and O’Neill Cross Country meet

Saturday, September 9, 2023, the XC Badger team traveled to Broken Bow. Girls individual results in the 5K are as follows: 19th place, Christen Larson, 23:47.12; 36th place, Paige Sprenger, 25:35.28; 52nd place, Lexi Long, 27:26.80; 57th place, Samantha Sprenger, 29:00.37.

Lady Badgers win over Cozad

The Lady Badgers traveled to Cozad, Saturday, September 9 where they won in two sets. Valentine - 25, 25 = 2 Cozad - 16, 17 = 0 Kinsey Buechle and Finley Mosner were leaders in kills with 7 each; Savannah Fullerton had 2, and Arianna Blume 1.

Lady Badgers place fifth at Gothenburg

Kaetryn Bancroft placed third with her personal best, a 78, and broke the school record that was previously held by Ashley (Kurtz) McSweeney for the past 16 years. Team scores: Tierney Miller, 112; Joni Cox, 115; Jojo Jordan, 126; and Rylee Wackler, 135.

Lady Badgers take first place at Hershey

Monday, September 11, the Lady Badgers raveled to North Platte where they took first place after a sudden death team playoff with Hershey. Both teams had a 426 and went back out on the course in a team playoff. Valentine won the team playoff by 4 strokes.

Magical Homecoming for the Badgers

The 2023 Badger’s Magical Homecoming is set for September 22, 2023, when the Badgers will face O’Neill Eagles under the lights! The Badger Boosters are helping kick off the week with friendly games of powderpuff football and the guys will play some volleyball. Following the fun games a Pep Rally and a watermelon feed was held on Sunday to kick off the spirit week.
