Artists create depiction of Cherry County for MONA

Valentine Community School students participate in the Collaborative Nebraska Map project to commemorate the Fall 2024 reopening of MONA (Museum of Nebraska Art) in Kearney, NE. School students were asked to represent their county by designing on the provided county piece of the unique map of Nebraska.

Community supports Boys Travel Baseball Team

Last summer, our community came together to support the Majors (12U), Minors (10U), and Rookies (8U) Boys Traveling Baseball Teams. All three teams play from the end of May until mid-July.

Junior High State Championships results

The Nebraska State Championship meet was held in Gothenburg, Saturday, May 11, 2024. This is an all class meet. Four girls qualified for the meet along with two alternates: Annalena Nelson (8), Addison Stec (8), Kealy Titus (7) and Danika Janssen (8), Clarrah Beebout (8) and Mia Sherbeyn (7).

VMS fourth quarter Badger Effort award

The Badger Effort Award is based on the school's character education. Students who demonstrate Character In Action (CIA), responsibility, accountability, honesty, empathy, and respect were nominated by their classroom teachers and staff. Congratulations to the Valentine Middle School fourth quarter Badger Effort recipients!

VHS hosts It’s Your Life Conference

Monday May 6, 2024, the dualcredit Business Communications/ Event Management Class hosted the It’s Your Life Conference at Valentine High School. Kaetryn Bancroft, Mataya Morrison, and Christen Larson were the lead planners on this project. They were supported by classmates Zoe O’Keefe, Makenzie Ward, Jessa Klabenes, and Jenna Purdum.

District Golf results

Coach Devin Muirhead said, “The team did not qualify for state but played a great round and a team score of 373. Individually no state qualifiers this season.” Individual results: Tanner Two Strike, 91; Caden Stankoski, 92; Thurston Ravenscroft, 93; Garrett Cumbow, 97; Cooper Jordan, 107.

Southwest Conference and HWY 20 results

The Badgers placed third out of 10 schools with 374 at the Highway 20 Invite in Basset, May 7, 2024. Three medaled: sixth place, Tanner Two Strike, 90; 10th place, Caden Stankoski, 92; and 13th place, Cooper Jordan, 93.

Badger golf ties for first place with O’Neill

Valentine team tied for first place with O’Neill with team scores of 348 at the Valentine Invite, held May 9, 2024. Valentine and O’Neill went head to head in a sudden death playoff with O’Neill winning by one stroke.
