Thursday, April 25, 2024, Police Chief Dana Miller and Deputy Weston Goodrich went to Simeon Rural School to share their knowledge of criminal investigations with the students of Simeon and Cutcomb Schools.

Monday, April 29, 2024, the Badger Golf Team traveled to Ainsworth and placed third out of seven teams with 372. There were two varsity medals - sixth place for Caden Stankoski with 89; ninth place for Tanner Two Strike with 91; and a JV medal for Reeves Witte in fourth place with 101.

Representing Cody American Legion Post #319 and Leo Brinda Unit #90, eight local young ladies will be attending American Legion Girls State. They include: Ayden Naslund, Kate Cox, Ally Heath, Emma Thompson, Riley Sexson, Emma Kreutner, Jenalee Garwood, and Marybelle Ward.

Valentine students attended the 2024 State FFA Convention, these are their team and individual results - Congratulations! State Degree recipients Mataya Morrison, Hailey Witte, Johnny Kruger, Mitch Kluender, Lex Larsen, Alexis Long, Kaylee Hanson, Kinsey Buechle, Preston Stoeger. Proficiency Results Preston Stoeger, first in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management.

Cody-Kilgore attended State FFA Convention and received the following results: Grace Wolff, first place in Poultry Production Proficiency, and she received her State Degree. Lilly Ravenscroft, Gold Medal in Ag Literacy Speaking.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Valentine Community Schools to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.

Four Badger track athletes traveled to Norfolk on April 24, 2024 to participate in the Northeast Nebraska Classic. Seniors Kinsey Buechle and Grant Springer; sophomores Isaac Cronin and Maeli Patterson competed against the top track and field athletes.

Alivia Patterson and Cianna Colvin, seniors at VHS, created T-shirts for Autism Awareness as a community service project for American Government. Over the course of seven months, they were able to make all the VHS staff t-shirts by hand using an at home heat press.

The Badger golf team traveled to Basset for their triangular, held Thursday, April 25, 2024. Valentine competed against Ainsworth and North Central and came away with a score of 182. North Central had 167, and Ainsworth a 195.
