Zion Science Fair

The Zion Lutheran Science Fair was at Zion Lutheran School in April. There were many projects covering a broad range of topics, from soda and mentos to homemade batteries to solar ovens. It was an exciting night for the students and those in attendance.

High school rodeo heads to Hastings for State Finals

Hastings, NE (June 6, 2022) The best high school rodeo athletes in the state will make their way to Hastings, Nebraska June 10-12 to compete for the title of Nebraska’s best. The Nebraska High School Finals Rodeo features the top thirty contestants in each of 13 events; top 60 in the team roping.

Celebrating Earth Day and Arbor Day!

In celebration and Earth Day and Arbor Day, the students at Zion Lutheran School spent part of a day serving at Cherry Hills Estates Assisted Living. The flower beds are now spruced up and ready for spring! In addition to this work day, Zion students have enjoyed interacting with Cherry Hills residents throughout the year through periodic music performances.

Cody-Kilgore participates in Nebraska-Wyoming Shootout!

Cody-Kilgore was well represented in Friday, June 3, 2022, NE-WY Shootout. Wearing red and white were Peyton Sterkel, Gage Davis, and Tucker Ravenscroft. Leading the Nebraska team was head coach, Landon Miller. Nebraska came up just short after a hard fight falling to Wyoming, 44-68. Davis and Sterkel will also be playing in the Can-Am Bowl July 4.

11th annual Andrew Claymon Memorial Fishing tournament June 11

It’s actually been 12 years ago that the annual Andrew Claymon Memorial Fishing Tournament began, however, due to COVID-19, one year wasn’t counted. So we’ll celebrate Andrew’s life and remember him in the best way he knew how to live...on the water at Merritt Reservoir catching big fish, this coming Saturday, June 11, 2022.

A reminder about youth, the internet, and sextortion

A reminder from the Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Attorney General’s Office for youth this summer! Internet blackmailers are increasingly deceiving today’s youth into sending them sexually explicit photos and videos by posing as close-in-age peers or love interests on social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, or gaming apps. This scheme is known as “sextortion,” and it is a serious crime.
