Leo Brinda American Legion Auxiliary Unit 90 is sponsoring a junior girl to attend Cornhusker Girls State in Lincoln. An informational meeting will be held February 3, 2022, at 3:30 p.m.

Commissioners approve regulation changes for WMAs

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission adopted special area regulation changes for wildlife management areas at its meeting January 28, 2022 in Lincoln. The changes concern hunting at Gifford Point WMA in Sarpy County.

Parent-Teacher conferences scheduled February 9

Valentine High School second semester Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held in the commons area Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be no classes held February 9, due to the conferences.

Badger wrestlers bring home second place honors from Chadron Duals

Valentine placed second at the Chadron Dual tournament Friday, January 21, 2022. The Badgers lone loss came to a 24-1 Scottsbluff team. “I would have liked to have wrestled them with our full line-up, I think we would have fared better. The Badgers defeated a good Mead, CO team in the semifinals. That was our best dual of the day. I thought we wrestled pretty good against them,” said Coach Shane Allison.
