Mike was an avid storyteller, a devoted father, a connoisseur of Western novels, and a larger‑than‑life personality who never knew a stranger and was never overly con‑cerned with timeliness he would arrive whenever he did. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children over the years.
He will be deeply missed by his large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as the community of friends he built throughout his life. He has finally returned home to the Sandhills, where he truly knew happiness.
