Lakeview Area News

The Lakeview community was saddened to hear that Jeremiah Smith, son of Dan and LaDawn Smith of Lakeview, died January 29, 2025 after a kayaking accident in Pennsylvania. Jeremiah had been attending Bible college there, and was 20 years old. At the time of this writing - February 2 - search and rescue members are still searching for his body, as ice and cold have been factors. I did not know Jeremiah, but stories that his friends in Lakeview share are that he had goals to become a pilot, was a helper, had a great sense of humor and a twinkle in his eyes. Our heartfelt sympathy to the Smith family.
