Vets Club soup contest held

The championship round of the soup contest was held Friday, February 2. Winner was Rachel Wade with Smoked Corn Chowder, second place was Bruce Balerud with Awesome Shrimp, third place was Tony Hanson with Taco and fourth place was Leo Driving Hawk with Pozoli.

Valentine FSA, extension to host commodity crop safety net meeting for area producers

Valentine, February 9, 2024 USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Blaine, Brown, Cherry, Keya Paha, Rock, and Thomas counties is reminding producers now is the time to make elections and enroll in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2024 crop year. The sign-up period is open through March 15, 2024, and producers are encouraged to begin working with the county office to complete the process.

Ballin’ on the Bad River Tournament Champs

A group of 11 local boys, from third to fifth grade, traveled to Ft. Pierre, SD, Sunday, January 21, 2024 for a five team round robin fifth grade tournament. They were victorious in all four of their games. Game 1 vs Winner Wranglers 32 - 21 Game 2 vs TL Panthers 23 - 16 Game 3 vs Wolverines 12 - 7 Game 4 vs Pierre Wave 22 - 18 Coach Reagle commented, “It was nice to see the boys work through some adversity and come together as a team. This was a total team effort from all 11 boys!”
