The final quarter of 2022 begins in October, with the results of the Badger Homecoming where they lost to Gordon-Rushville with a score of 13-33. Crowned at halftime were King Cayden Lamb and Queen Mekallyn Bancroft.

Water main breaks on Lakeshore Drive

It’s a very chilly Winter Wonderland!

A record setting snowfall occurred, Friday, January 27, 2023. Three inches fell breaking the old record of 2.2 inches set in 1944. Snow continued the next day, adding 2.3 inches along with some extremely cold temperatures. The coldest, according to NOAA Weather, was -16 degrees Monday, January 30, at 7:52 a.m., with a wind chill of -32. The sun glowed warm, after being hidden by snow clouds all weekend long - perhaps making it look warmer than it really was?

NDA’s annual poster contest celebrates Nebraska agriculture

LINCOLN—From the food we eat, to the clothes we wear, agriculture positively impacts all of us. To highlight and celebrate agriculture’s many contributions, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is sponsoring a student poster contest.

SCC announces fall Dean’s List Southeast Community College in Nebraska has released its Dean’s List for the term completed on December 16, 2022, on the Beatrice, Lincoln and Milford campuses. To be recognized on SCC’s Dean’s List, a student must complete at least six semester credit hours of the term with a minimum grade-point average of 3.5.

Troopers respond to over 400 weather-related incidents

JANUARY 20, 2023, NORTH PLATTE — Nebraska State Troopers responded to more than 400 weather-related incidents as snow and ice accumulated across Nebraska. Between Wednesday and Thursday, troopers responded to 42 crashes and performed 385 motorist assists.

Incidents/Arrests On 01/08/2023 at 9:08 a.m., an officer responded to Highway 20 and Main Street for a report of an auto theft. A 32 year old South Dakota man was arrested for theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
