Hands to Larger Service project by Will Cox

Will Cox, a Cherry County 4-H member, followed the 4-H pledge to lend his “Hands to Larger Service” by creating and donating a quilt this year. He raffled off a summer 4-H quilt project at Valentine Methodist Church to raise money for youth ministry projects.

BBB Scam Alert: Online purchase, website scams top 2022 report for Nebraskans

For the third consecutive year, online purchase scams were the most reported scam type to the Better Business Bureau Serving Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas Plains & Southwest Iowa. Online purchase scams were considered the riskiest scam type for all consumers nationwide, according to the 2021 BBB Scam Tracker Risk Report, which found that nearly three-fourths of reports involving the scam type involved a monetary loss.

NCC announces President’s List Northeast Community College in Norfolk has released President’s Honor List for full-time students for the Fall 2022 semester at Northeast Community College. These students earned a 4.0 grade point for at least 12 credit hours.

Governor Pillen announces Creation of Broadband Office

LINCOLN – Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen announced his issuance of an executive order creating a new Broadband Office. The new office will be housed within the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) and work under the oversight of NDOT and the Governor’s Office.

Pete Ricketts sworn in as U.S. Senator
