Increase flowers with a bit of deadheading

Keep your garden looking its best with a bit of deadheading. Removing faded flowers can promote repeat bloom on some plants, encourage fuller, more compact growth, and tidy up the garden.

Float these five Nebraska water trails

With summer sizzling, now’s the time to hit Nebraska’s water trails for a chance to cool off. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission features 10 water trails along stretches of the state’s well-known rivers and creeks.

Troopers make 24 DUI arrests during Fourth of July weekend

JULY 6, 2022, LINCOLN — Nebraska State Troopers removed from the road 24 impaired drivers during the Independence Day weekend. “As Nebraskans kept their eyes on the fireworks this weekend, troopers were busy keeping our roads safe,” said Colonel John Bolduc, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol.

After the parade

After the parade, people gathered at the Badger Bell which was rung 13 times for each of the original colonies. This is a time to remember what our forefathers drafted for our freedom and independence, which is shared above, not in its entirety. Words that have kept us a free nation! Results of the annual Demolition Derby!

Weeks before July 4, many were probably working on their derby cars. Fine tuning them for the hits they’d take, and making sure they’d keep on running if they did get a good whollop. At 6:00 p.m., Wreckless Promotions began the annual Demolition Derby with a total of 24 cars.
